Well, it wouldve got rid of the PUP's - get your virus software to run a full scan of your system anyway.

Welll it seems to have fixed it, as I did another scan with malwarebytes and it came up clean. THANK YOU SO MUCH everyone who posted suggestions, much appreciated.

Also doing a FULL scan with the windows security system.

You really should nuke your PC from orbit.  It's the only way to be sure.

You maybe ok, however if you are using the PC for sensitive activity such as Online Banking, purchasing etc etc it maybe prudent to do a format and reinstall.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Bugger, I hate reformatting, so tedious and I never remember everything to save. Though I guess I better, as I do lots of internet banking and online shopping. :-(

Time to sot out automatic daily backups then, that way you can just roll back in situations like these.

I never used to back my PC because there was nothing critical on it. Now I realise, the fact that the OS is configured and working, all updates are installed, and software is installed, is actually pretty critical.
For me, a restore takes @ 30 minutes mostly unattended, starting again takes days or weeks.
