Installed all updates overnight. Interestingly it's now offering Intel drivers and NVIDIA video drivers, even though this is a laptop...
I am tempted to install the Windows 10 update but this is a review unit, so...

Actually the best way of "making it go faster" (and work properly) is too download and install Ubuntu 15.10
But the new desktop sucks. Seriously, no ability to put icons on your desktop? Linux mint, much better, based on Ubuntu but much more friendly.

Chill pill bro.
We respect peoples opinions on here.
I don't go around calling Linux admins losers or neckbeards, and don't like it when someone calls my employer M$ or my product Windoze.
Have a nice day
EDIT: I see your post I replied to is now deleted

Send it back?
It's absolutely ridiculous that 10 isn't installed.
edit: just saw the Oz RRP of the 14... woahhh... I'd want someone to come to my house and install 10 for that money!
/me sigh

I honestly, hand to heart, would have to say I find windows 7 faster. My sons i5, win 10, installed minecraft, clapped out, patched and fixed but lagged at low res, low def, short render distances etc. Installed Win 7, turned all the setting up to 10 and as smooth as an Irishman's charms.
also seeing more and more Win10 machines struggling with 100% disk time for first 5 - 15 mins after startup, impossible to work on within the first 5 mins of start up. Seeing it across brands, models and specs. The only fix seems to be SSD drive, but it is worryinmg that a new 'fast' os needs ssd to run properly on startup.
Sticking with Win 7 is not a bad option. Expecially around graphics rendering - as you can use your own or vendor drivers, not generic / MS approved versions.

Simplifying updates for Windows 7 and 8.1
After much agony and anger with Win 7 updates, I decided to get the Convenience Rollup aka Service Pack 2 a whirl. I did a fresh install with Windows 7 with SP1, got the April 2015 servicing stack update for Windows 7.
Then I got the 316mb Convenience Rollup from the Update Catalog website. (After running IE11 as Administrator - it wouldn't work for me as an ordinary user. Found that tip somewhere.
Anyway the Rollup took only a few minutes to install. I then made sure updates were set to come automatically and went to bed! In the morning a few more updates had been found and after a re-boot I checked for new updates &
it worked almost instantly. A couple of important updates and a big list of optional ones of which I have installed none.
I am quite impressed. For me it was/is my last attempt at getting Windows 7 working properly with all the updates. Although I am now more of a Linux Ubuntu or Linux Mint user I still have a soft spot for Windows 7 & it's nice to have a Windows 7 installation to use if I need to.

freitasm: I can't get the roll up because the Windows Catalog is not working on my HTPC.
maybe use another PC to download it, then transfer and install
Thanks. Tried on my Windows 10 laptop. The ActiveX is installed but when I find the update the [ADD] button does nothing.
EMET complained about it during install. Related?
