Came home from work and got a message on the home system that it was ready to install the update.

Set it for 3.30am and when I woke up in the morning it was sitting on a page asking me to set location/advertising etc information. Turned that all off and went back to bed.
When I went to use the system later that day, it was sitting on the desktop waiting for me to do something

As far as I could tell it managed to preserve all of my app settings and hadn't installed a thousand new apps for me - I haven't yet looked through all of the Settings to determine what I may need to disable

Compared this to the update from 1511 to 1607, this was pretty painless

My wide and I have had ours done. Her Asus had issues last time and had to wait a couple of months for one that worked. My newer ProBook had no issues. This time hers worked fine - but I eventually unistalled it and tried again to see if it would work (had a blank screen for a while - just checked the little disk activity light to see things were still happening). Apart from the minor issue of losing the old Win7 games (easily reinstalled) and resetting privacy settings, I can't get my taskbar to keep it's settings - and I have tried both locked and unlocked.

Mostly it's OK (e.g. OpenOffice) - but won't keep Skype. This starts anyway - it's just a question of preferring it out of the way on the taskbar. The pain is the two Mozilla apps and Chrome have gone (from the taskbar). I put them back by pointing at the actual program - but when I open them a second task bar copy appears. Not fatal - but frustrating clutter on a much used taskbar. I've tried living with it for a few days - but decided to uninstall it this weekend and wait for a newer version.
