Also remember, redundancy is not the same as backup. If you have a lot of content on your Media Center (for example) and a copy on your NAS/WHS, what happens if your home is destroyed by fire?

Do not assume the 2TB drives will have the exact same files on them. WHS does not mirror same size drives, it mirrors files so there are two copies on any of the drives available.

That is why i said unlikely worse case, but also dont assume that their wont be any duplication between the drives either. The actual outcome is likely to be somewhere between 45.7% and 91.4% of files remain

Yes I agree, My logic/approch to backup/redundancy/protection is large steps in the right dirrection should be set up to be simplified and happen automaticly - even if the humans invloved get lasy. ie raid, file duplication, copies on different network devices at different ends of the house, laptop automaticly backs up inportant files when in range of home network, UPS's should be used.

But their still needs to be a longer term more manual plan to handle the bigger disasters.
