jetbuster: its the theoretical ram availability for 64bit OS's in the TB margin or am i mixing facts
Ellipsis: Hey mate, I thoroughly reccomend 64bit W7 regardless. I think its so much better than 32.
SepticSceptic: I'd be interested in the responses here as well, re 32 vs 64. I have two aging Skt 939 AMD mobos, one x64 and one x32. Unfortunately, both have single core CPU's, so the option is there to upgrade the CPU's to dual core. Wether I upgrade the x64 or the x32 remains to be seen. Dual core X64 skt 939's command a hefty premium, so I'm not sure if this is the right choice to get another year or so life before the next major rebuild/upgrade/replacement.
Both the skt939 mobos are AGP, DDR etc, and I have a Gigabyte HD4650 AGP, and 3gig DDR RAM, probably should get 4gb if I go the x64 route.
I 'm NOT expecting blistering framerates from the latest quad-core hungry games, but I do a bit of video editing, kids play some of the recent games, and just need an upgrade to tide over ...
