well, so far i was able to check in the briefcase and able to log into main database from my laptop- so-for now it seems it may work. only problem is..have to update both my server and laptop to yet another new release- say a dozen in the last 3 months- lots of issues. i do believe the problem is with borland interbase- have to disable few things. have my fingers and toes crossed..will keep u posted. i'm no comp geek but seems bit of an achievement. I think republic jedi is right in saying to run in compatible mode...but win7 ultimate seems to be smart enough to do it for you.
next i'd try nd install onmy n900 if i'm able to get one...no hurries

I fix people (or try to) not computers! (but trying to!)

HP still come with the downgrade option too, and Toshiba. Time is running out on XP though. Medtech are going to have to get their act together and finally catch up with the rest of the world. They've been apparently working on a new version for some time but nothing from them on an actual release date as far as I know.

Yea, as computers get upgraded to vista or windows 7, microsoft will probably start only patching critical errors, in the hope that XP users will upgrade, nowdays... you can't get a good brand new computer without Vista or Windows 7 pre installed (thats referring to Dell)

Hey,

Are you 100% sure that you CPU does not support vitualisation? Couldn't there be a setting in the BIOS for this?
What is your CPU?

Yes it's been checked. All discussed in another thread. Not supported.

I just stumbled across this thread whilst looking for help with MedTech, as I'm having real problems getting it to work under Windows 7. Managed to get it to work on one of our Vista laptops after getting the interbase 2007 licence, but that took about two days of installing and uninstalling. I still have no idea how I got it working in the end. I may even try the XP virtualisation on the Windows 7 laptop.

I have been given info that may get MedTech running under Windows 7 with interbase 7.1. Not willing to mention it publicly as it isn't supported in any way by MedTech. PM me if you want to give it a go. I make no promises or guarantees at all!
