LOL. Give it a year? Does that make this the worlds largest beta test? My box feels about 92% done with graphical glitches, and various other bugs. I am annoyed MS didn't see fit to polish this product more before releasing it. From my perspective one of the least polished releases I can ever recall. (I am talking about visible and prominent bugs).

There should have been no screaming rush to release it, another couple of months shouldn't have made any difference.

I am not saying there aren't some good improvements or that it's not a worth while upgrade, but after W8, it feels like we were due a knock it out of the park release.

It is noticeably faster in most regards.

I find the Intel Driver Update Utility doesn't identify any Intel hardware... I know not win10 fault, but thought I would highlight.

RDP is very flaky and bombs out quite alot, win10 to win10 over wireless.
Win10 auto logs into the console session as well, kicks me out.

Wireless xfer to win10 share is slow at 355KB/s constant.

The little things make the biggest difference.

I understand, but using less will mean more room for programs that I want to use the ram aka Photoshop.

Will windows scale back its ram needs if another program needs it?

This is what happens when marketing is more important than Engineering .

It may have been a rush to meet deadline, but why such a rush to install .
No one was forced to install it, surely the sensible thing would be to wait untill the hickups were all sorted before installing.

Well I work in the industry, so being familiar with the product is pretty important to my job, and the best way to be familiar, use it every day. As for others, I completely agree.

Bottom line is, it should be better than it is, in my experience. I do wonder how MS feels it's going, other than the "marketing" response.

The start menu not opening every time, and being lagged at opening esp around the start of the machine, seems to be a strange thing not to have nailed. It was such a big deal to most people when it went away, that you'd think if they were going to be ONE thing right, it would be making sure the Start Menu was flawless.

May seem like I am being harsh, however as I said I see a lot of good in W10.

If I was a freelance technician I'd be rubbing my money-grubbing hands with glee, loving windows 10.

I've been inundated with calls from non-tech savvy friends and family today who have "accidentally" tried to upgrade to windows 10 and encountered issues. (A common one is "I don't have windows live mail anymore", or "my emails are gone" etc). This is probably just the beginning.

IMHO putting a prompt on everyone's taskbar, prompting them to upgrade was a disaster waiting to happen. Some people just don't know what they're getting into. Feeling sorry for anyone without money to throw at their 'mistake'.

Ditto about working in the Industry, all I know is that my machine is fast been no speed slowdown since 8.1 and I have no issues with menus etc. been a great experience apart from the immaturity of the browser still prefer Chrome for now but I went in knowing this. I suspect your issues are related to drivers, that would be the wild card and to defend Microsoft they general don't make the Hardware / Drivers for the likes of video cards etc. That said Hardware manufactures may argue there has not been enough time to iron out the bugs since the Gold Build came out that would be my only criticism, but should self correct over the next month.

ive noticed the opposite..

Overall, im enjoying the move to windows 10.

my only real gripes would be the 512 limit in the startmenu, and virtual desktops while being very handy are rather clunky to move applications across. being able to have certain applications across Multiple desktops, would be handy for chat applications.

I wasn't even aware there was any issue with the start button. Are other people experiencing that?

I do realize there are things they are ironing out, as they go. I am not aware of any software release that doesn't do this in some fashion though, and a slow staged release along with apparently quite active fixing is probably a good way to go, because they get maximal use of feedback.

It's not like anyone has a gun held to their head, to try a free piece of software they can easily roll back from, quite the opposite you have do go get the iso yourself, or wait in a long line to get it.

I don't envy the amount of hardware they have to code for. A lot of android software doesn't work on most devices, and aspects of the OS, don't work properly on some. Windows has the widest ambition ever, for the amount of hardware it plans to run on. Ideal was always going to meet reality in some respects there.

Agree. I consider myself pretty tech savy, but I encountered all sorts of annoying issues upgrading from windows 7 to windows 10. Most of the problems others have had, such as after upgrading the local account to a Microsoft account, I could no longer send emails, or save microsoft office documents, due to permission problems. But one I still haven't worked out, is that the Microsoft store doesn't load, so I can't download or update apps. When I try to load it, I just get the blue store loading screen, with the loading circle dots, but nothing happens, it just hangs. I presume it is a permissions thing, but haven't been able to find a solution to date.

I wonder what the difference is between your set up and mine, that I haven't gotten those issues. I have used an outlook account for awhile, but not for my windows login. I've had no issues with permissions, or the store.

Maybe it is where your files are stored, mine are in the default microsoft my documents folder. But others have had the same identical problems as me, and microsoft does have published fixes for them, so they appear to be quite common. I am sure if I setup a new account I will get the store working again, and certainly a reinstall will fix it, but there is probably an easier fix.
