they will be DRM free, yes. The nice thing is that it brings the Linux platform to more people, new features like this make it more attractive to those who havent used Linux before!

I have been using Alpha2 for a few weeks on my laptop and I have Huawei K4505 and Nokia CS-15 USB Sticks working out of the box withh with Network Manager. This release is looking good so far.

I'm keen for 10.04
I wonder if the music store will offer Vorbis downloads?
I don't like H.264 and AAC. It might work swimmingly on PS3s and Macs and higher-end PCs.. But VGA-size MP4s play so slowly on my PC it's painful, yet Vorbis and Matroska play fine.
But anyways. Patent-free Vorbis would be nice, coupled with the DRM-free.

FYI, the second beta introduced some important memory leak bug in Xorg, not present in RC or alphas. The bug "should be solved" in the official release, but speaks very poorly of the Canonical release cycle
