hi im nathan i am happy to join you guys on this forum does any of yas have a problem with when u restart your macbook you lose your desktop picture reverts back to the original??

Nope, works fine here. Perhaps start by telling us what sort of mac (i.e. Macbook Pro, mid 2011 model etc).

Open up Disk Utility and repair permissions, and see whether that fixes it (you may need to reselect the desktop background after doing this).

Are you doing something odd like using a picture that is stored on an external HDD, or on a disk image or something?
If you choose one of the other stock images does the same thing happen?

How are you restarting btw? If you're doing this by pressing and holding the power button or whatever, it could be causing this. I've never had this problem myself though.

edit: Does it do it with all wallpapers too? like, different stock ones, or something completely different like a picture you've taken yourself.
