Can AirPort Time Capsule WAN port be bridged?

The device has three Gg ports on what I believe to be an internal Ethernet switch, I'm wanting to know if the WAN port can be configured to be bridge to the switch, giving a 4 port switch?

Note: I have no intention of using it as a router becuase it does not support port forwarding.

Not sure if its the right answer to your question: But you can bridge (turn off NAT) the Airport Extreme. I have done that a few times to use it as a regular access point.

That way you can use all 4 wired (Gb Ethernet) ports?

Not sure, however one of the "tricks" these new access points can do is to set up a 2nd "guest" wireless network that has no access to your local wired network , only to the internet (although I guess it still supplied DHCP info), so this may preclude the ability to use the WAN port as one of the standard ethernet ports.

I assume that is not supported by my current AirPort Express, so guest access would only be availabe in the range of the new device (I currently run two AirPort Express devices to provide coverage to the whole house).

I was lead to believe that Time Capsules cannot port forward, but it appears that it can. Has anyone done this, and if so, have they forwarded more than on port to different internal addresses?

Not sure about port forwarding, but going back to your original question, you can set them in to bridge mode (under internet settings - connection sharing) so all 4 ports of the switch sit in the same subnet.

Well, just had a look in airport utility - might have to use an older version (5.6.1), but looks fairly easy to set up port forwards.

With internet - internet connection set to share a public IP (i.e. using NAT), a NAT tab pops up under internet.

Check the enable NAT port mapping check box, then configure port mappings - just keep adding the ones you want to the list.

Thanks. So you can set multiple source ports to target IP addresses?

Sure can. You can label each port (or set of ports) with the name of the service to make it easier to manage too.
