Just noticed that macOS Monterey is out.  Downloading in now onto my mid 2014 Mac Mini (am currently running Big Sur).  It is a whooping 12.13GB download according to my MacMini.

Also keen updating my 2013 Retina MBP too, but I'm waiting for the backup to my TimeMachine to complete before attempting to install Monterey on it.

Interestingly, I've noticed that Monterey's version number is 12.0.1...

Edit: Updated download size..

MacOS Big Sur is the last officially supported OS for the 2013 MBP, but that's not going to stop me from having a crack at installing Montery onto it via other methods.

I've had great success in the past with installing "unsupported" OS versions onto older hardware. I was running MacOS 10.10 (Yosemite) on an Early 2008 MacBook, even though the last supported version was 10.7 (Lion).

Yeah I just found this out this morning when I tried upgrading my MBP, only to find it didn't support Monterey!  I'm sure there will be lots of tutorials of people installing Monterey on (older) unsupported hardware, so would be interesting to see.

I might leave the MBP for now, but I did manage to complete the install on my 2014 Mac Mini and it seemed to work well.
