I have been trying without success to get the old Win 7 pc games (specifically, Hearts, Chess and Freecell) to run with Wine. Using Wine Bottler they seem to load okay but nothing happens after the language question comes up. Has anyone ever been able to get these to work? I am aware of the alternatives but I would like to get these versions running on the Mac if possible.

I don't know if they're the same version, but have you considered browser based online versions?

Have you looked at virtualising a Windows 7 instance via VirtualBox on your Mac? It's pretty simple to get up and running.

Thanks for the reply. I have, but they are not the same. MSFT keeps 'improving' things. I can run on-line games but my goal is to get these particular ones to work. It is not a biggie, just something I would like to do if I can.

Thanks I just installed VirtualBox just to have a look at it, but I don't really want a complete other OS on the Mac. I just want to run these three games. I was hoping Wine would do that but it doesn't seem to.
