hi,

I was wondering if anyone has used mobileme and iphoto, and if it was possible to keep your library in sync online.  I want to be able add a photo from any of my machines into my library and have it automatically sync online so then when i use the other machine the photos are now there (minus download time).

this is the online feature im after for mobileme, i have gmail for email, dropbox for storage.  using picasa ATM but not a big fan of their app.  iphoto is a lot nicer.

The Iphoto library can be moved to another location, so if you have a few machines, you could share the same library on a network drive. as per this apple article you could move your local one to a netwroked storage:

Note: If you move, delete, rename, or change files or folders in the iPhoto Library folder, you may be unable to see your pictures in iPhoto.

To move the iPhoto Library folder or package to a new location:

Quit iPhoto if open.
Open your Pictures folder and select the iPhoto Library.
Drag the iPhoto Library folder or package to its new location.
Hold down the Option key on the keyboard and open iPhoto. Keep the Option key held down until you are prompted to create or choose an iPhoto library.
Click Choose Library.
Locate and select the iPhoto Library you moved in step 2.

With Mobileme you can sync photos in iphoto, but they are always on mobileme but within iphoto on the left hand side column down the bottom under mobile me albums.(provided you signed in)

All you macs would then have the same shared mobileme photo albums, with iPhoto however, you still have the wait of downloading untill all synced.( doesnt take too long)

Should you make changes to the mobileme albums, it should send changes to your other machines, when you open iPhoto there.

Hope that made sense.
