Just realized the other end of the Ethernet cable is plugged into the tower and u want me to unplug it and plug it into the dongle....told ya I am clueless lol
yes, you will lose internet on the tower for the duration of the cable being plugged into the Mac, but once you're finished on the mac you can plug the cable back into the tower.
Absolutely unreal....just the simple process of taking the cord out of the tower and plugging it into the router and the dongle not only got me online, but I am vpn'd in somehow without having to type ANYTHING into the macbook, weird...well it would still be easier to get the wireless router hooked up so my family can use the internet while I work, but baby steps with me.... Thanks so much for everything, and u deserve all the "what a moron" thoughts u all are surely having right now, lol!
