In seriousness I think while the features sound cool I will wait to see how they are properly implemented before passing judgement.

One thing that really bugs me is not being able to properly share a Mac or iPad. I know they want to sell more devices but Apple can get stuffed - there is no way I am buying two laptops and two iPads for a 2 person house-hold who already has a desktop and two cell phones. Family-whats-its-name does not go far enough, why do we have to share a credit card? Why can't we just link the accounts together and share the purchases? Why can't the two users of the same Mac access the same iTunes library and playlists etc... it's just awful in places for multiple users... annnnnd, I have that off my chest.

Edit +1 for HomeKit - that sounds interesting.

Hardware is not in WWDC. I expect a MBA, MacMini, maybe Apple TV announcement in coming weeks, and later will be the iPhone, iPad announcement.

Parent(s), kids want their own ID, this way they can enjoy free apps while being ID independent, CC being the identifier seems fine, its all in the family. Possibly helps avoid friends pretending to be family to get free/cheap purchases.

The way I see it though is I don't want my wife asking permission to use my CC when she has her own CC and money and vice versa. Just let me download what she buys (if I want the latest Katy Perry song that is...) if i want to. I just don't get the one CC thing. Do they think allowing multiple CC's will cause issues and create a mess with purchases and refunds etc?

I believe the credit card prompt on purchases is only activated if the linked family member (or Apple ID) is pre setup with "ask to buy" - eg. your child. Stops them from spending thousands on those Freemium games I guess.. Without seeing it I'd say there's probably a way to designate either you or your partner's CC to also be designated for the 'family' and linked to one of you (or perhaps both) as an 'authoriser' for the family's "ask to buy" purchase accounts.

Ha yeah! As the admin you can probably block them from ever being able to use it!

And you're right, without seeing it yet it will be difficult to know for sure how it all works. While your suggestion would work fine I guess I'm coming at it from a point of view where we still have separate CC's for certain things and to link one CC to enable sharing would being annoying when we could just link the accounts and share away. I'm trying to see the disadvantages of two people with 2 CC's sharing their purchased content with each other?

I would like to see it work like this:

Two accounts, Account A and Account B - both approved to share purchases with each other.

1: Account A can download already purchased content from Account B without permission and vice versa.
2: Account A can use Account B's account (credit card) to make a purchase, only when approved by the Account B holder and vice versa.
3: OSX has one iTunes library fully shared across two or more (up to six) user accounts!

I think it is interesting how OS X now has a feature that microsoft removed from windows 8, and that is the translucent windows. Windows 7 have them, but not windows 8.

I like it, and these days I think aesthetics do have a real place. If you can do the work you need to, nice aesthetics are, well, nice. Adds no value to the task at hand, but it's still a positive.

Doesn't the whole concept of the iCloud drive compromise iOS's "sandbox" environment?

In that you can store "other stuff" as well?. Throughout the WWDC, when I saw these "freeing up" functions, Apple then immediately mentioned how security is protected. So, if we took the glass half empty approach, the opening up is happening a lot now, with maybe a small decrease in security. The security may well be unaffected. Just my thoughts

I like it, and these days I think aesthetics do have a real place. If you can do the work you need to, nice aesthetics are, well, nice. Adds no value to the task at hand, but it's still a positive.

I think that is what they called it. Windows 8 instead just has windows 95 type windows. I beleive with windows 8, as they intended to depreciate with windows interface over the metro one, as well as speed it up on lower powered devices. However IOS seems to have the same aero effect.
But with the recent changes to windows, it looks like they are reversing that, so maybe they will bring it back. OS X is a far nicer desktop interface now than windows. Windows now feels like a compromise of a tablet and desktop environment. Doesn't look like apple are going down that track at all. They are keeping the interfaces ios and os x interface totally separate, although they are linking the designs to match.

Very true. Separate, but matching. And much more integrated. I think iOS got aero. In iOS 7.

I just can't let go of Windows Explorer though. Finder has nice points but limiting. I'm a recent switcher so will persevere a little more

yes, and with the new "handover" feature AppleARE integrating the devices w/out MS's FORCING users to try thinking of totally separate devices as being 'the same'
