Here is an example of what you'll be getting. I am using a Mikrotik as an AP and it can achieve speeds of up-to 170mbit over WiFi to my Alienware laptop however on my iMac I can't get anywhere close to that. So this means my iMac achieves slow WiFi performance on the 100mbit UFB it is connected to:

Macs simply don't perform as well as their Windows counterparts over WiFi hence why I use Ethernet on my iMac. My Alienware achieves Ethernet-like results from a wee distance from the AP.
