MikeB4: there are reports of issues with Office 2016 on El Capitan with the Office programs crashing

I've been using Office 2016 for Mac (Preview and RTM) on Yosemite and El Capitan for at least 6 months and had no issue.

It's as unstable as unstable could be.  You're very lucky!

I installed it when it officially came out and, so far, I've only noticed one, but very annoying, problem.

When my iMac falls asleep, it only allows one USB-plugged device to continue charging. This previously hasn't been an issue.

A quick Google search reveals that many are reporting the same, but I can't figure out how to fix or bypass it.

Any ideas, please?

Thanks.

Microsoft is working on Office 2016 bugs for El Capitan. http://www.macrumors.com/2015/10/05/microsoft-office-2016-el-capitan-bugs/

In a case like this who is at fault?

Microsoft for not updating it's software for a new os even though it must have had access to the changes for months

or

Apple for making changes that would result in an extremely popular software package function poorly (that apple produce a competing product for)

I upgraded my Mac Mini which I use for my media server to El Capitan. I run iTunes on the back of Audirvana Plus through an Arcam irDac USB to the ARCAM HIFI amp.

Since the upgrade I can't get the DAC to connect to Audirvana even though the configuration is the same as Yosemite.

It all looks like it is connected (the only USB device on the Mac is the DAC) and says its playing but no sound.

There must be an issue where El Capitan and USB DACs don't play nicely together.

Anyone else had this issue?

Thanks Chiefie, it looks like I have to wait tili it's fixed or go back to Yosemite (difficult I think).

I am also, pretty sure there are no Mac Drivers for the DAC. It's meant to just work.

I upgraded when it came out .. not noticed any improvements but have noticed that graphics are a bit juddery and tears now, and some websites with animation on tend to twitch about a few pixels (hard to explain).

to be honest, I'm almost over having an OSX machine at home, seems Apple QA has been sliding and things no longer "just work".

Might be heading to a Windows 10 machine next been quite impressed with it.

Just put Windows 10 on your Mac using Bootcamp, if it is new enough for Apple to support Windows 10 on it. :)

A few OSX updates ago, Rotel USB DAC's failed to work. A firmware update from Rotel fixed this... so it does happen.
No issues with my ESSabre DAC on my Perreaux.

Running fine on both my iMac and my MBP.

Can't really tell the difference between it and the last one though to be honest.

Me neither. I'll read the Whats New Apple notified to get a handle on it. I gather window management is part of it, great
