Photos app on my MBP keeps crashing to desktop this morning when using Edit functions. There are lot of people on the Apple Support forums reporting the same thing over the past few hours - somewhat relieved it's not just me.

Update hasn’t appeared in App Store for my wife’s MBP 2012, yet. Safari and iMovie updates have been applied.

It won't appear as an update - it's a separate download.

This might be it.

Apple Releases macOS High Sierra 10.13 Supplemental Update With Fix for APFS Disk Utility Bug and Keychain Vulnerability

There will be no minor number increase

I am really on the fence over whether to upgrade from Sierra. I value stability over new features, hence I am inclined to go with 'if it ain't broke don't fix it'.

On the other hand, I am quite keen on getting onto APFS.

Can anyone confirm whether the minor bug fix update has actually fixed all the issues?

It depends on what you mean by "all the issues".

It certainly hasn't fixed the issue of the built-in Photos app crashing when trying to edit some photos - even though this is widely reported in the Apple forums and in formal reports to Apple.

Apart from a couple of buggy things, I like it. The auto play blocking in Safari, and the new Metal WindowServer makes things more snappy, less lag

Thanks. That was the one that I was most concerned about so I will hold off for now.

I installed the High Sierra update a couple of days ago on my 2013 iMac. It's running like a one legged dog now, incredibly slow. I don't see any apps hogging the processor, am thinking maybe a ram issue. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Try this grease & oil change program, it is free and I've been using it for years. I use it prior to upgrade or update and backup, then post installation of said upgrade or update.

OnyX is a multifunction utility that you can use to verify the startup disk and the structure of its system files, to run miscellaneous maintenance and cleaning tasks, to configure parameters in the Finder, Dock, Safari, and some of Apple's applications, to delete caches, to remove certain problematic folders and files, to rebuild various databases and indexes, and more.

WARNING:
There is a specific version of OnyX for each major version of the operating system.
Use the specific version, and don't try to use a non-compatible version.

Here is the link - Onyx

Hope this helps your one legged dog

Yep wait.

It may be rebuilding the Spotlight indexes.

Also how much RAM do you have, my 2011 MBP runs fine but I have 16G RAM and a 500G SSD in it.

Thanks, I ran the Onyx software and it certainly cleaned out a lot of of unnecessary stuff. However the problem still remains. So I ran diagnostics, CPU load is around 5%, 4 mb of ram used and 4 mb available. Ran a full virus scan, nothing found. Then I had a thought, I have a second profile that I created for my wife (but she never uses). Logged in with that and snap, everything runs fine. So I suspect that I have a corrupted user profile? So what now, can I repair it or what should I do? Thanks in advance  for your help with this
