corksta: You might already be aware of this but it's not on this list here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669 with their suggestion being the standard line of visiting HP's website for any updates, however they do give details of a second option for getting it to work so maybe give that a go until an updated driver is released.

HP's site says that the F2200 series is supported, and to use the drivers provided by Apple.

Does the spellchecker work for you guys? I have the system language set to British and it tells me that words like "colour" and "behaviour" are wrong. The right-click correction menu offers "colour" and "behaviour", so it seems to be using an American checking dictionary and British correction dictionary.

So.... Carried out a two hour time machine back up, opened up the Snow Leopard DVD package....
Click Install, got to the time remaining screen then it tells me that the disc could not be read and to carefully clean it.

Tried 6 times... I think I will be going back to magnum mac for a replacement.
and thats my friday night folks.

My Snowy Leopard experience consists mostly of reading reports of other people installing it.

I'm the (not so) proud owner of a PPC Mac.

No SL Upgrade for me :(

I've had 2 Black Screen Of Death kernel panics since doing the Snow Leper upgrade.

That said, one of my 2Gb Ram modules is showing ECC errors so I may have to try and get Magnum Mac to replace that as it is only 6 months old.

I think dicky RAM is a big cause of kernel panics (whatever they are - no idea, just "Not Good"!)

So far;

I UPGRADED to Snow Leopard the other day on my MBP 17 late 2009 version.

The upgrade process was very smooth, had no hick ups, recovered quite a few GB's of space. My screen NEVER went blank during the process other than to reboot which is obviously normal.

The process took about 50ish minutes to complete.

Once SL was successfully booted up, everything worked as it should, and the programs I use all worked. (MSN, Yahoo, Skype, Colloquy, Microsoft Office 2008, First Class, Adobe CS4 suite, VLC, Lounge, the list goes on)

Everything was noticeably snappier than Leopard.

That night, I ended up doing a CLEAN INSTALL (I didnt have enough time to do this earlier). So far I've had no kernel panics or anything like that, however, I have had to do a hard reboot (holding the power button) due to freezing. It hasn't happened for a couple of days though. So hopefully it has fixed itself.

Also worth noting is this;

If you UPGRADE to SL, you will be running 32bit by default. to change this when you boot hold down 6 and 4 and it will boot into 64bit.
In my case, doing this changed it to 64bit by default.

If you do a clean install, and your CPU supports 64bit, it will enable 64bit from first boot so you won't have to change anything.

I haven't had any bugs that others are talking about on forums like the Dock bug, the menu bug, resolution bug (but I believe this is only a desktop problem) or any other problems which apparently exist.

I am enjoying being able to use Mail iCal and Address Book with Exchange 2007 natively. I still have entourage there just in case I need it some day, however, I am exclusively using Mail on my Mac at this point in time.

Setup of Mail was definitely much easier than on PC/Outlook.

Hope this is enough :P

My Mac Pro dual 3.0 Xeon has only 32 bit EFI and trying the '6' and '4' thing simply results in slowing the boot up down and worse performance than leaving it alone, for some reason.

On the plus side, I have partitioned my second internal HDD and devoted half of it to Time Machine, which seems to work better in SL than before. If I run out of space I still have 2 empty internal HDD slots (sticks tongue out at iMac users!) ;-)

I do have a really odd issue with internet connectivity for a minute or so when I first start downloading a torrent - all connectivity, including web browsing and ability to connect to instant messaging, dies and then appears again. I have no idea what is causing it, and it doesn't appear to be related to a specific BT client.

Oh really? Bit of a weird thing to have to do but good to know cheers, looking to do the upgrade soon

Sounds like a glitch. It's supposed to use the 32-bit kernel by default unless you're on a server (ie. Xserve hardware or the Server version of the OS).

I'll be clean installing it tonight on my brand new 13-inch MBP so will report back on whether mine boots 32 or 64 by default.

I would have thought though that I would have read about this from other sites, unless no one picked up on it!

I wouldnt go as far as to say a glitch.

Reviewers have only been talking about the upgrade to SL, not a clean install. And every upgrade review i've read has been 32bit default.

I'm calling it a glitch as Apple states that only servers should be 64-bit by default. If your desktop clean install went to 64-bit, then something is not performing as Apple says it should.

For the record, my clean install is 32-bit.

Naturally, I can't find it now. I saw it before release, and now the search results are all cluttered with people that actually have the OS and are trying to switch kernels etc.

Edit: This isn't direct from Apple but it's the same information.
