When I started this thread the intention was to demonstrate to many users that there isn't a single secure OS around. Regardless of exploits being available in the wild, the fact is that all those consumer OSes have flaws.
The evidence is easy to find: just look at the monthly announcements with new security patches. There's no way to deny it. If the Mac OS was safe as many say there wouldn't be that many fixes released in a single year - more than 100and that's from January to May. Yes, remember this is on Mac OS X.
As said before it's all economics. It is much easier to release a quick hack for Microsoft Windows and get the fast buck, than invest time and money developing something to run on a much less widespread OS.
