BTR: I liked to good old days of 10.5 and 10.6, not that impresses with 10.9 and 10.10, will be interesting to see how Microsoft stay afloat when they make Windows 10 free considering software is their only real money earner.
I would think Microsoft is trying to shift its revenue stream to services, rather than licenses. Just look at their Office 365 services, Azure etc.
And they have only said that Windows 10 will be free for the first year. Something tells me they will move people over to a subscription based system. Possibly based on a freemium model for Windows.
I think it is high time Microsoft started to turn their boat around. They have not had much wind in their sails while Ballmer was the captain.
