Greetings, Geekzoners.

Several colleagues and I have been set a team-building task to raise money for charity.

We have chosen to do a "virtual garage sale" on Trademe - i.e. running several auctions, flogging off goods and services donated by companies and individuals.

ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TO STARSHIP CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL

What I am here to ask you all at the moment is:

Do you have something you could donate to our charity auctions? It could be physical goods, an hour of professional services or anything else that you think we could sell.

Trademe are coming to the party and waiving success fees, so there'll be 100% of all sale proceeds going directly to the Starship Charity.
We're just awaiting a letter from Starship to confirm and I can provide that to anyone who wishes to donate something to a very good cause.

We will be adding details of donors/sponsors to the auctions, as a kind of advertorial, so that you can get some press mileage out of it.

Right now we have a few bits and pieces to kick things off, like Ziptrek Ecotours passes (worth around $179 each) and a 6 month Gym membership, so we're not really looking for an old pair of used football boots...Galaxy S3's, Quad-core laptops and 100" flatscreen HD TV's welcome. Money Mouth

If you want to be involved, please PM me and I can chat to you offline. We're willing to take pretty much anything that can be sold...except your children.Innocent

We are planning to set up the auctions to run from 31/05/2012 for 7 days. We'll likely do $1.00 reserve and hope for the best, with no "Buy Now" available. We'll be adding the Starship logo to the auctions if we can (with assistance from Trademe, hopefully) to make them as appealing as possible.

Anyone who can't or doesn't wish to donate can check the auctions out when I list them here once they're up and running.

Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

Cheers

Jason

Ok...Auctions will be listed on TM on 31st May

So far we have had donated for auction:
Ziptrek double pass (Queenstown)
2 x Skyjump passes
2 x Skywalk passes
6 month Les Mills membership (Britomart)
Beauty treatments
Cafe meal vouchers
House sale professional video services

If you would like to donate goods or services to this excellent cause, I can provide a letter of confirmation from Starship Foundation stating that we are acknowledged as an official donor.

Tick tick, time's running out...
