Hi There!

Weird Request:

Just wondering if any of you have tried this:

Gold Class beef burger with tomato, beetroot, cheese and lettuce served with
cajun chips and tomato relish

Was it ok, good, or horrible?

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Had it a while ago. It was pretty good. Standard pub food type of stuff. Hard to see in the dark of the movie theatre though.

Just go to burger fuel and take it in with you? This is what I do. Taken in bag of corn chips and dip, loaf of bred and ham and even a ready to eat hot chicken and bread rolls!

The food in gold class is (in my opinion) nice but very expensive for what it is.

Had to sit next to a woman who smuggled in KFC in one movie. It stunk out the theatre. Then there are those who can't eat with their mouth closed in theatres. Why are some people so inconsiderate of others?

That coupled with the price has put me off going to the movies in the theartre unless it is a big big screen must see.

I've been known to sneak a beer into a Reading cinema with me.
I like my entertainment experience to be complete and that includes having a beer while watching a movie. Since Readings don't provide me with that opportunity I believe (rather arrogantly, I know) that's it's my prerogative to bring my own.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

If the cinema is selling burgers anyway I wouldn't be too fussed about people bringing in other food from outside, provided it doesn't smell too much and they're not too noisy\messy. No way would I pay cinema prices for a burger (though admittedly I'm not sure how much it is, anyone care to enlighten me?)

Well it's part of a deal we are getting so the $16 burger is $10 which isn't outrageous.

Well if the cinema sells it.....

I can suck it up and deal with that if I have to, but at least then the cinema is in control of the menu...

I've been in movies where people bring in Kebabs that reek of garlic and it just stinks the whole place out, and other movies where they brought in fish and chips then proceeded to drop the whole bag on the floor and spend ten mins picking them all up, then ate them!!

Granted I'm a huge grump and I have weird rules around what I think should and shouldn't be allowed in a cinema :) But I still reckon hot food should be outlawed - and chippies - or anything with a wrapper that makes more than a few db of noise LOL

I must be the exemption, can't think of any occasions where I've seen/smelled any hot food in Cinema's. Apart from loud chippies and flying popcorn foodies in Chch seem to keep their eating to sidewalks and buses.

Last time I was in Reading (Wellington, admittedly some time ago) they did sell beer and let you take it in - in the gold lounge at least.

It's been a while - now that friends have started to reproduce, and most of us all have decent sized tellies and sound set ups etc, it's often less hassle and cheaper to convene at someones house for a BBQ and a film than to all go into town. Esp as a couple of mates (sadly not me..... yet) now almost have mini-theatres in their houses.

Fair call, should probabaly have specified Readings Porirua.
