Hi folks

On a recent holiday I used a magnifying shaving mirror in one of the hotels and it was fantastic to say the least!

I am now keen to put one in my bathroom.

Please recommend on the following questions:

1. What magnification level is good for shaves? I.e. gives good enough magnification to make it a clear, effective solution instead of just normal 1x or smaller ones like 2.5x

2. Where to buy them from in Auckland? Any good deals or recommended stores / sellers?

3. Any other points to consider?

I've used one in the shower for close to ten years now and love it still. I can't recall the magnification but saw them for sale in the beauty section of farmers and also plastic box. That was down here in Wellington but must be similar in Auckland.

i'm after a shaving mirror for my shower, i got the 3M one which meant to be fog free but it isnt

is yours fog free?

easiest way to make a mirror fog free is to rub some soap on it and then wipe off with a cloth.

Mine *was* fog free a very long time ago but only really lasted a month or so. Now when I shower I use some of the shaving soap/foam/oil from my hands on the mirror then lightly wash the suds off with a handful of water and it will stay fog free for the duration of the shower.

Toothpaste works quite well for keeping it defogged too, as it's a very mild abrasive.
