Hi there.

I have been to a concert before, there last year, (I took a female friend of mine, to the last Taylor Swift Concert), and we took in several phones, and a entry level digital camera, and they didn't seem to mind, (mind you, everybody had recording devices, and the whole attitude was like yeah whatever).

Not really a Swift fan, but I have to admit the way the whole show was done last time, on the production side was fantastic imo so I've decided to go again.

This time, I would like to take my little 7 year old video camera with me, and was just wondering would that be allowed to be taken in.

The Vector Arena's website says no recording devices permitted whatsoever, but everyone knows that it largely depends on who's performing, and the performers view on things. Otherwise the last concert I went to, probably 95% of the people attending would've had their recording devices confiscated.

Any people had any experiences with such a thing?

Technically if Vector rules state no cameras then its no cameras. Their premises and the rules apply to their premises therefore it doesn't matter who is playing.

If people are recording they would have the right to ask people to leave or deny entry, the logistics or doing that are against them.

I guess recording devices are banned as some bands make live concert DVD's and you having a recording of that concert could take away potential revenue. At the end of the day its no different to recording in a movie theatre

Which is actually legal (or at least was a few years ago), so long as you don't sell or give away the recording.

Holding up a phone for a bit everybody does that. Holding up a dedicated camera of any kind you will get extra attention. Also check the terms and conditions on the ticket.

Basically a performance usually has copyright applied, so making a copy of it (by recording it) probably wouldn't be allowed. Usually one would find that taking a professional camera would be frowned upon as well for the same reasons. Press would likely have to get specific permission.

I think you answered your own question. There is little point asking the opinions of the people if the rules are clear.
