3D or Imax?

Thinking of travelling down to see "Gravity" but I wondered what would be the best viewing experience, 3D or Imax?
I am assuming Imax is not 3D as on their website there is no charge for 3D glasses like there is at the 3D theatres or have I got that all wrong?

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

When I went to IMax as a kid, I remember wearing goggles.

Imax has a HUGE screen. Much bigger than a classic movie theater which I believed is curved around the theater as seating capacity is also much bigger.

Not sure about charging for 3D glassess or whether or not they are still goggles, haha.

I'd probalby pick 3D, though I think you can do both on some movies (not sure if it uses the full imax screen though)

Avatar was the first "real" (not counting things like the 3D ones at disneyland) movie I saw 3D and it was on the imax screen. It was rather unpleasent - It gave my partner major motion sickness and I get a bit of a nasty headache from it.

We've since been back and seem some 3D movies on normal cinema screens (Dredd, etc) and they were way better.

I'd go for Imax 3D. I believe that they have just upgraded it. However one thing. I saw the last Star Trek movie there which was filmed in 2.35:1 however it was cropped to fit the Imax screen so all closeups were just too close for comfort..
