Hi,

Please HELP!

I need to unlock a client's drive bay as they have a failed drive(s) and they can't find the damn key!

NZ distro told me that all QNAP NAS boxes use same (round) key design, so if you have one I could use that would be fantastic!
I'm happy to come and visit you with the NAS box. I work in Wigram but can travel Chch-wide.

Thanks in advance,
Peter

Couldn't you pop into a computer shop that stocks them and ask if you can borrow a QNAP key? If you don't find anyone on GZ in the area that has one of course :)

A decent locksmith should have a ton of skeleton keys if you cant find one. Im sure one will fit. also, those round keys tend to be similar anyway, so see if you can find a rack key for whatever. :P

If they are anything like the Synology ones, any small flat blade screw driver can be used to rotate them.

I deploy a modest number of synologies in schools, and always cable tie the key to the DC power cord of the power supply (they use a laptop style power supply), that way it does not go awol.
