The herald have a map showing a 15 hour propagation to NZ. No warnings from Niwa yet so guess we are pretty safe. What are the chances?

Little bit more complex than that depending on origin and undersea ridges/trenches etc etc.

Nice to see civil defense giving an indication there. Herald not particularly helpful.

I.m about 40km from the sea, so the chances are slim in these parts!

I am 500 meters from sea here in good ole papamoa, and no worries here

You can see the waves reaching NZ on the Geonet tsunami network gauges.  Pretty small - but definitely there:
