Hi

Recently I have bought some things from Hong Kong from different companies. Neither of them have arrived. At least one is reliable and my friend has received everything he has ordered from them. My question is, have I typed my address wrong?

Address line 1: ** ******** ****
Address line 2: Manly
Postal Code: 0930
City: Auckland
State/Province: Auckland (I think this might be Whangaparaoa, but I am not sure)
Country: New Zealand

If I have typed anything wrong, please tell me. THanks

I would have thought:
City = Whangaparaoa
State = Auckland

I think that is fine.

When posted from overseas, it should have no problem coming to New Zealand. Once in New Zealand they go by post code then the local guys would put it in your post box.

I ordered something from Hong Kong 3 months ago and it hasn't arrived yet. Who knows!

Do you have the tracking number though?

When posted from overseas, it should have no problem coming to New Zealand. Once in New Zealand they go by post code then the local guys would put it in your post box.

Things are _slow_ from there at the moment. I have just opened a few ebay cases for things getting towards 40 days since I paid - paypal give you 45 to get the claim rolling.

I have noticed a few things that have arrived quickly have been malaysia or singapore post despite the location being given as hong kong or china.

I ordered something off ebay in March and I waited a month, "no no ples wait 5 more days then we send another", I wait 5 days, "we have already sent another one please wait a month", and then they told me to check the post office, I did, nothing, and then they replied again asking me to check with my name, and it was too late to do anything or leave any feedback.

Going by the NZ Post Address/Postcode finder https://www.nzpost.co.nz/tools/address-postcode-finder, the correct address is:

Address Line 1: NNN Street Name    Street Type
Area:                Manly
Suburb:             Whangaparaoa     0930

Address Line 2 is technically reserved for 'RD#', however it's possible that 'Manly' actually replaces that (I'm not 100% sure)

Personally with those fields, I'd fill in:

Address Line 1: NNN Street Name Street Type
Address Line 2: Manly
Post Code:         0930
City:                 Whangaparaoa
State/Province: Auckland   (Esp if it's once of the old style international forms that force Auckland)
Country:            New Zealand

Otherwise, I'd follow NZ Post's lead, skip Auckland completely, Manly as City, Whangaparaoa as State/Province because that is what NZ Post now say it should be for 'Post'.

Honestly though, NZ Post/Customs are going to find you if you've got your: House Number, Street, 'Manly', Postcode, and Auckland. Trust me, they can track people down with less. You should consider calling them and starting a lost parcel/letter investigation (the sender might need to do that).

I suspect that the sellers will just not send their low price items and blame it on the post. Im making a habit now of not going for the cheapest seller of anything and am getting a much better delivery rate.

The last USB powerpack I ordered was clearly dropped inside its bag before it was wrapped in foam and then put in the outer bag tho, the seller is claiming "damaged in post send photos" however.

Where is looks like they had some script errors for a majority of the address.

The good thing with PO box numbers is they are unique within the country, there is no other Po box 340077 in the country so really that is all they need is that and NZ, but I guess NZ post can work the google to find people.

Just put your ebay claim in if you are still able to. With how slow airmail is the 45 days is really not enough, but you just have to get the claim started now and they can delay you a few times asking to wait. If you dont click thru resolve a problem then it will timeout at 45 days and you cant do anything but leave feedback.

way, way, way too late for that. it was only a little tv aerial for my laptop that i was gonna convert to pick up ads-b (or whatever it is, so long i forgot). my friend has never had problems with the other site so i reckon it will eventually arrive or we will get it sorted

Plenty of duplicate PO Box numbers, most pre-2000 lobbies have boxes numbered < 500 as I understand it. My parents recently gave up their 30+ year 3-digit PO Box, betcha $50 that there are plenty of duplicates (especially considering the amount of mis-sorted mail I recall when I was a kid).

Perhaps old ones are like that. I know that some of the older lobby's don't have the full box number on the boxes but they should have a longer one that is unique.

Older box numbers like 1103 need the box lobby as well as that box number is repeated in about 8 areas. NZ Post do have a 7 .digit identifier for every address but I don't think it is the same as a po box number that just happens to be unique

One of the annoying features of the NZ Post address finder is that my address is listed as
[number] Church Street
Mosgiel
Mosgiel 9024

However it can never find Mosgiel, Mosgiel when I use the Pay to Post option and mentions that because I used a post code it will use that to determine my location

I've got a 6+ month old case with support but I suspect they have put it in the too hard basket
