I just saw this article in nzherald. The employee was awarded substantial damages for a breach of privacy by her ex-employer. Her ex-employer was also ordered to retract an email and request all original recipients of the email to delete it and the attached image(s).
What I do not understand is how such an order is of any use given the fact that the media have already reported the relevant details - all of which will be available for posterity:
* Employee's name
* Employer's name
* Content of email including images
Surely there should have been interim name suppression, or at the very least the media should also be requested to withdraw or redact their reporting after the event.
