EDIT: Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I managed to find a friend who just had fiber installed who is willing to help me out.

If your uploading to Amazon (AWS) they did offer a service where you could ship in a hard drive and they load it up 'locally' rather than over the net. Not sure if they still do.

Or @Dratsab's idea + beer would also work. (hint - I have unlimited fibre and also like beer).

EDIT - so AWS have moved on a bit from just getting a HDD from users http://aws.amazon.com/importexport/ and its now called Snowball and they ship you an appliance that you fill with data. Guess it depends on how much you value your data

GBristow: Hi everyone

I've been having a lot of issues with using RAIDs for my home media collection, and have decided to drop it and just back up online. Unfortunately I only have 2Mbit up, and my collection is >6TB. Assuming I can max out my upload speed, it could still take almost a year to upload all that data.

Does anyone have any suggestions for where I could go to upload this faster? Internet cafes?
