According to an item in my local paper Monday, Kiwis of both sexes are amongst the world's highest consumers of porn. Sorry, no link, though it might be in the Herald.

Anyway, it is good to know that we have the work/life balance right here.

That would explain all the eager singles "in my area" - even my neighbour apparently!

even though I know all my nearby neighbours and they certainly don't look like the pictures....

Link to Herald article and source research (NSFW site), I found the read rather interesting but of course it is simply one site among many. What has porn got to do with work/life balance?

There is no pornography in my house..... I don't even own a pornograph to play it on.

The views expressed by me are not necessarily those of my employer Chorus NZ Ltd

I've read you can buy a pornograph machine cheap at Dick Smith. They come in different sizes, some with 4GB RAM or 8GB RAM. You can use for no porn stuff too.

Had a funny conversation with a female friend at new years about porn watching habits. She seemed genuinely shocked that A. I watch porn, and B. I would openly admit to watching porn, lol... and when I told her her husband probably watches just as much as me she looked at him with a look of horror and was like "really?" he shuffled around nervously and said "maybe now and then", hahaha....

I know some women who absolutely hate their partner watching it, even considering it a form of cheating! Crazy! Thankfully my wife doesn't give a rats and probably watches it herself.

Good to see how Chatham Island's faster P2P internet is being used :)

According to the radio this morning, Gisborne has the highest porn-watching per capita in NZ.

I have removed a few sexist comments. Keep it clean (no pun intended) people.

I thought this was interesting actually, are the IP databases in NZ actually accurate? Almost all of the time I appear to be in Auckland (all those hot singles are so far away...)

It hardly matters. The porn site is looking for free promotion with this news release and they got it so lots more visitors for them. They could make stats from thin air.

My ex and I used to enjoy watching porn together.

I was kind of surprised by the percentage of women that watch it.

A long time ago I did see a statistic about internet usage, 95% of the internet is porn, the other 5% is people complaining about all the porn.

Maybe not technically accurate but quite an amusing statistic!

I would thought this is all expected and we should be gratefull for porn.
After all porn was the killer app that funded the introduction of the video recorder making it available for other uses.

Perhaps newspapers should run a story on the quality of journalism in this country v the rest of the world, rather than printing these studies that use unscientific methods. Now that would make for some interesting and probably depressing reading.
