I think I have read every cartoon least three times over the years, mostly at the Bach in the summer holidays

RIP. I read one Footrot Flats volume after another in a continuous stream growing up.

RIP to Murray Ball. What am amazing cartoonist he was. Like many here I think I have read every Footrot Flats Cartoon ever made and the movie was excellent too.

We have lost quite a few amazing people in the past couple of years.

RIP, I loved reading your cartoons as a kid, he was truly one of a kind. Sad to know there won't be anymore dog.

I was sad too when Horse died some years ago - apparently he was a real cat, a bit of a mongrel, and the cartoon version very closely followed the real cat's exploits. Art imitating Life

RIP Murray, and Horse.

I am still gutted about this a couple of weeks on. That picture of the dog looking at the star in the sky with a sad face, painted on the side of the Water Reserve in 3 kings, really hits me when I see it.

Having grown up on a farm and having read so many of the comics till the pages were brittle it seems like saying good-bye to a well known friend.
