As I'm sure you all have experienced, CourierPost has a long running joke of losing packages, leaving their calling card when people are home and other gags.
I have had my fair share ranging from the classic calling card to a three piece shipment being separated where 2 of the three packages make it where they're meant to go, except for the third that turned up in Dunedin instead of Auckland 2 weeks later. But this week, they're pulling out all the stops.
Decent order from Amazon. Cost a fair bit but you need to spoil yourself once in a while right? After the package sat at the international depot in America for well over a week before it was "Found" and delivered by the third party handling that length of the journey, it finally made it to New Zealand. Yay! Customs should have been quick since tax was pre-payed. took 5 days. But oh well, government agencies am I right? Released to CourierPost to handle the last leg of the journey. Just a few km's from one side of Auckland to the other and to my front door. I usually ship to my local Countdown but I did not know which shipping company would handle the last leg so couldn't guarantee it would be CourierPost who seem to be the only company that can ship to NZPost pickup locations. So day of delivery comes around. I'm out for most of the day but there is someone home all day, I made sure of that. No calling card for me! Part way through the day, signature requirement disappears, odd but hey, someone will be home anyway so my new Planar Magnetic headphones shouldn't stay outside for too long.
5pm, I'm home. Half expecting a package to be at the door or maybe hidden behind the bin, it's like a little easter hunt. Except it's no where to be seen. Check shipping, It's still with the driver. Must be a very busy day! As time ticks by, it's nearly time for all deliveries to stop, I call up CourierPost. Apparently they don't know where it is. But the driver might still have it and still be making the rounds. Following morning, still with driver, no change, didn't go back to the depot. They really need to give this guy a bonus, working all night long on deliveries! And to this day he's still going. No delivery, but the driver still has it and it's still being delivered. It's quite amazing the length these drivers go to get you your package.
