I received this a few days ago, can you believe it is real? I've never used the Send it Now service, so I was sure it was a sophisticated phishing email. I used the contact form on the NZ Post website and uploaded a PDF of the email. Turns out it is a real email, but was meant for the sender of the item I received last year, not for me. Who in their right mind would deposit money into an account with such a generic name? It also included an .xls attachment (sure, I'll open that too).

During this investigation, we also discovered that the orders you placed between October 2017- April 2018 have outstanding balances. Please see the attached spreadsheet for a list of these orders.

We encourage you to check your credit card statement (on the order date) for the payments immediately. If you find the payments, or have made payment since, please reply to this email (senditnow@nzpost.co.nz) with proof of payment or call 0800 767 840 and we will update our records.

If you have checked your statement and can confirm payment has not been made for the attached order numbers, we'd appreciate it if you could please make payment via internet banking by 25 June 2018. Please use the attached order number/s as the reference when making payment to:
