Famous last words. If anything goes wrong it won't be his fault lol. The article says completion in 2018. Did he start it? Google shows no change. It's usually out of date.

I don't know if the counterweight system they are using is all that new? They use similar things on tall buildings all around the world to counteract lateral movement from wind forces,which I imagine would also work for earthquakes.

Not a tower by any means, but the new Nelson airport terminal building has masses of timber in it - panels and laminated beams etc. Looks like it will be a neat building.
