For years have been recycling our "single use" shopping bags to daily scoop up our cats litter tray poo and then placed them in the general rubbish. But now that "single use" bags are on the out, and rightly so, we are looking at a more Environmentally Friendly way to go about this.
Note: our cat is 13 years old and wont toilet outside as we taught her to use a litter tray whilst living in inner Sydney.
You can compost certain types of cat litter and these are the biodegradable types: paper, wood or grain based products which you compost using a normal but DEDICATED compost bin.
Two problems I have ascertained from research; 1) biodegradable litter = expensive & 2) these types of compost do not reach high enough temperatures to kill excreted cat diseases.
Thoughts please
