Happy New Year everyone.

 

Hopefully not too many Geekers in the hungover zone this morning.

 

 

 

Himself has ordered some bits from a company in Australia and they have given him this tracking code but not which company it is with.

 

Does anyone here recognise the format??

Happy New Year. Could be Australia Post? Baring that, try something like 17track.net, which may identify the courier.

Most of the international freight companies are interlinked with their trackers, so pretty much any one should work. Just drop it into the NZ Post tracker, and it will probably give you info.

There is an Australia Post international service that is not tracked once it leaves Australia, and NZ Post put another label on it once it arrives in their possession. Have had a few shipments out of the Ingram Micro logistics centre in Sydney using this method, and it's rather annoying!

If you want tracked, I guess you have to pay for it. Do I.M. not have various shipping options?

Not purchased from IM. The company in I order from just use the IM logistics facilities (to stock their own products) and IM seem to have chosen the cheapest shipping option available for that contract.

NZ Courier Post uses ?? ### ### ### NZ as their numbering format. AFAIK, this is also part of DHL. You can try your number here: https://trackandtrace.courierpost.co.nz/search/CHxxxxxxxxxAU

Usually the overseas ones will track on NZ post if they connect the old and new codes to it. I asked why they have to add new codes and apparantly some of the overseas ones do not scan properly so they put a new one that ends with NZ on the parcels.

The last letters denote the country of origin, so in this case its Australia. NZ Post/Courier Post will handle any freight with that type combination of XX#########XX

I think it has been answered already.

The number is in international S10 UPU (universal parcel union) format.

As said, the last two letters are the country code where the parcel is - when it lands in NZ From memory I believe it will get an NZ code.

The first two letters are the service indicator code. From memory I think C = small parcel. H i would guess may be home delivery.
