Always had trouble with shoes. Couldnt buy any in germany. I even had what was meant to be EEs sent from the UK and my little toe was busting out the side.

My official size is 11 US EE width.

I use to have a nice pair of globes and the seemed to fit, but no skate shoes list actual width. So Im thinking it will have to be trial and error.

Running was Asics fit better now than New Balance do, evidently NB changed the pattern. So my trail running shoes are Asics and I have German Meindl Hiking Boots.

Whats the best shop in Auck for casual/skate shoes?

A lot of the time when you walk into the major stores you don't even realise New balance have a range of widths :/

Kiwis seem to get tainted with the summer jandal wearing sized foot - 2E/4E wide for most brands and that's all that tends to get put out it seems. I only noticed when my last few went so sloppy I ripped up the side seams with the excess movement of ball/toe area

I too switched to asics gels, and more recently a black suede pair of Nike 'lifestyle'/casuals for wearing with jeans but not appearing to sneans. But alas, walk so much and they make the soles too soft I've worn them out prematurely and eaten out the heels once they softened up.

Or in my gen we just never wore any footwear to school lol. Hence my 11 4E feet.

Yep Asics have picked up the game that New Balance dropped with the pattern change. I havnt put a big toe out of my running shoes or my trail running asics yet and Ive gone through multiple pairs.

Interestingly some of those trendy Nikes are supposedly being made in 2E.

Skate shoe wise, I dont think they have width measurements, Ive just always found Globe shoes to have a broad forefoot box.

I like similar shoes and have had lots of pairs of Globes and DCs over the years. I recently bought two pairs of DCs at Dressmart in Onehunga, it was last year but from memory it was about $90 for two pairs. I’ve also previously bought from a skate shop in Henderson called Free Ride(?) near Kmart.

Also Great Gear in Avondale has been good.

Cheers,
Joseph

Oh also I’ve bought from 1-Day.co.nz, has been fine when buying the same brand when I know the correct size. (Globe)

Thanks for that, I think its just a case of trying them on. I tried some on in Germany and none were wide enough, I forget which skate brands, but everybody there is born wearing shoes lol, hence the narrow feet.

I also wear 2E shoes.  These fit nicely.

No longer available but the iconic allows free returns.
