Our vet has told us we need to start applying sunscreen to our cat's nose.

Looking online, there are cream and powder options, but limited information on how effective either are.

Of the two options, I think the powder would be easier to apply to our cat (but neither is going to welcomed by him).

Anyone else doing this? Any advice or tips?

How do you keep the cat from rubbing it off with his paw and then licking the paw? That is normal grooming behaviour. Does it have to also wear a cone whenever it is outdoors?

Umm.. the vet should've been able to advise how to do this.

But no, our cat is about 14 yrs old and lived outside, but has a dark nose, so not so much of a concern.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

A past cat of mine had a pink nose and developed nose cancer, it wasn't pretty. I'm keen to take advice this time around.

Sorry to hear that.  I apologise and retract my scepticism.😟

One option, keep it inside during the day, let it outside at night .
They will mostly be sleeping during the sunny daytime , night would be the active outdoor time for them .

That was advice from vet too. A problem for two reasons:

1. He's a rescue cat from Huha and one of the adoption conditions we agreed to is to keep him indoors at night to limit bird deaths (and he is a keen hunter).

2. He craves the outdoors, knocking on our door at 6 am each morning to get outside. He would literally tear the house apart if kept inside during day.
