I bought an air compressor from Tradetested, they let me know there was a shipping delay due to black Friday sales and large number of sales.

100% fine with that.

It got picked up 14:22 on Tuesday 25th by Flyways (A NZ post owned company)

Made it to Palmerston North 6:16am Wednesday 26th

Wednesday 26th Not delivered

Thursday 27th Not delivered

Friday 28th Not delivered

Saturday 29th is apparently the "agreed delivery date"

I have had items bought in Germany, shipped by DHL and delivered to my house father than this

What timeframe was promised when you ordered it? This looks reasonable for a freight company so far.

looks reasonable to me, too.

i had a recent one that sat for 4 days (not flyway) before getting picked up, so perhaps my expectations are a bit more lax.

1-4 days.

Now if they had to go from Auckland through various other towns doing pickups/drop off I can understand that, but to have it sitting in their shed for 3+ days seems crazy.

Especially if it's an oversize delivery(ie >30KG) where many couriers(ie NZPost) either won't take the job for health and safety reasons or just subcontract services like Fliway to do it for them. Fliways services are fantastic locally for me with confirming delivery day/rearranging a new one, time estimates and live gps tracking for your delivery etc.

It's not as convenient sure but the average Fliways customer is not OP.

So it's going to be delivered within the timeframe specified, and that's somehow poor service?

@sir1963 say what where is the issue? The only issue seems to be with you to be honest

That INCLUDED tradetested packing and pick up time.

But as I said, I understand these people may need to drive circuitous routes for pick up/drop offs to maximise the loads etc. I have zero issue with that.
I did NOT expect that the majority of the time was for the parcel to be sitting 15 minutes away from me in their local hub.

For domestic deliveries in Auckland, they seem to service different parts of the city on specific days.  When I was asked to choose a day and time (the only time choices were morning or afternoon) for the delivery of a washing machine, they choices were very limited.

But yes, I have also felt the frustration of a new toy/gadget/tool being almost within my grasp and then having to wait longer than seems reasonable to get it those last few miles.

I agree with the OP that it sitting in the local depot for 3 days is pretty piss poor..

I deal with Fliway daily and I do know at this time of year they are super buzzy. You could of contacted the depot to see if you could collect.

I use Fliway daily with bulk freight.  It doesn't look to out of place for this time of year and volumes coming into NZ

Fully recomend getting in touch with the local depot, the run sheet will have been full for a few days before you're item came up and depending on the availability, will need to be slotted into a metro truck.

If the trucks are fully booked until Saturday and they told you what is the actual issue? Are you expecting to go to the front of the line for reasons?
