hi guys and girls.
Short post, but im interested in the response to the following two images;

Just to give you a short sweet background, I have been asked to do an assignment at school which involves redesigning the school year book cover.

Anyways, let me know which one you think is better:

I prefer the right one where the school logo is readable without turning your head to the side.

side note: I know quite a few people who go to your school...

Oh okay. Fair point.

I tried to make the one on the right work, but it didnt like having images behind it. I tried making them transparent etc, still didnt look quite right.

Would you have any suggestions as to what to do? because I quite like the one on the right as well, but thats the problem im up against.

PS: oh really? Throw some names my way I might know them as well :P

The one on the left is no good with the important logo rotated.

The one on the the right looks good.

Nice!...  However I noticed "yearbook of 2009" isn't centred to the college title or emblems above.

My very metal Doctor Who theme

I personally preferred the "orginal on the right" version of that...but thats just me.  The one above is still good too.

My only extra piece of advice would be to consider using "the golden ratio" for the positioning of things.  If you've never heard of it before have a read around about it.  Great little cheat if you're not sure about positioning of things on an image.  In the case of your images above you might find dropping the text in white island down a bit (to match the golden ratio) works a bit nicer.  Its a personal taste thing at the end of the day though :-)
