Last time it was done the pool shop charged several $100 for it, which is typical overpricedness for them (oh, but they did an "electrical test" on it as well which is apparantly worth $35 or soemthing)

So I need to change the bearings again, anyone know howto? Its a FPI one thats as old as the pool I guess (early 80's) - I cant figure out how the black impeller assembly comes off the end of the motor to even see the bearing at that end.

Otherwise if you know of a non pool place that will do it at a decent price and forgo the unwanted electrical test (or not charge $35 for a test and tag that isnt needed for domestic use) that would be a good alternative. Im a poor broke student so cant afford massive pool shop markups on things ;)
