So there is a do not call register to stop telemarketers from calling you. How about a register to stop people coming knocking on your door selling you stuff. How can I stop this?

I don't think there is a register for that.

Best way is to build a gate and lock it:P

Is there a way to stop telemarketers calling you on the phone; like a register of no interest or something?

Ugh, slap me for not using the search function :(

It seems I cannot 'strikethrough' the above text when I edit the post. Could this be a bug or am I missing something. I select the text, click the strikethrough button which adds the effect and click update.

We all know, a Tiger is not the best way to go.
Watch Grandma's Boy and you'll see why.

I do however, have a cat that tends to scare off anyone that comes too close to the front door.

The best way is to get a barky dog, or put dog warning signs on the gate. Many people now have an intercom on their gate, where they will only let in people they want to enter the property.

A sign saying no solicitors?

Or keep a stack of trespass notices next to the front door.

I like the second idea. Could complete it with a linux machine running Motion to snap their faces while your at it. Wall of shame?

I plug my doorbell into a timer to stop the early morning annoyance. May just leave the inside part off since the couriers all have authority to leave forms, and people I or the flatmate know will ring the appropriate person not annoy both with the bell...
