Guys,

The title pretty much says it.

I have been forwarding emails to phone as SMS but since SMS delivery hasn't been reliable, I am looking for something that is not a phone but still gives me vibrating alert when I get an email. For example, perhaps a USB device linked to my laptop and wakes me when my email client receives an email. Does such a thing exist? I googled but found nothing.

Cheers.

The mail client on most phones will vibrate when they check and there are new mails. Why do you want a not phone device?

I tried using my phone (Samsung Omnia) for that, but it gets hot after less than 1 hour. It worries me a bit for leaving it hot overnight.

if your phone is getting hot from just leaving it on for an hour then something is wrong with it.

Making an hour long call might cause it to heat up, but not just leaving it on the side awaiting an email.

Sadly, I didn't realise overheating was a common problem with Omnia before I bought it. Many people have reported that a data session, regardless via 3G or WIFI, causes the phone to heat up. Oh well.

What about a Blackberry device with pushmail service? Don't take voice, just a Blackberry data plan

BB is nice but it can't run some of the apps that I need. Hence, I am stuck with Windows Mobile for now. Thanks for the suggestion though :)
