I dont think that irresponsible is how I would discribe Gareths move - I think that its a fantastic way to look at life, you dont have to die with the most toys or money to have won the game.

besides which, most people accumulate wealth/property/toys to hand-off to their children when they die... it's not like Gareth needs to think about providing for his now does it?!
