Hi everyone, let me pick at your brains lol. My old gfx card died on me last night.

This has left me feeling conflicted "oh no I have a short term problem of replacing it" and "yay I finally have an excuse to replace it!"

Could anyone suggest a replacement card? Maybe you know of a great gfx card or have one?

my requirements and limitations;
-I have $250 to splash out on a card, one could stretch that a bit depending on value for money basis.
-Needs to have at least 256mb onboard memory (so I can continue to keep up with the Americas Army upgrades)
-Needs to be AGP not PCI-E
-Needs to have a DVI, VGA, and RCA or s-video output - so I can use two monitors and TV again for display.
-I would like to purchase it from an online company based in New Zealand (but who can you trust? what if it needs replacement   within the warranty period? would they co-operate? have they co-operated with you in the past?)

And just to show that I haven't dumped all the research on you guys, I spent 30sec googling and found this and I found this could anyone tell me what makes the latter so darn expensive compared to the former?!?  (ah...keep in mind with the last one they seem to be including a game with it, which doesn't help too much with price comparison...)

Thanks a heap in advance for any comments you make on this.

I'd personally recommend Ascent for online computer parts/shopping.
Though some would contend that they aren't the cheapest, however in my experience they have exhibited excellent service.

Others may recommend other websites, but to each their own.

The difference between the cards I think you'll find find is not so much the memory, but the chipset/GPU.
Ones a Geforce 6600 while the other is a Geforce 6200.

The difference is that they are two different cards! Both made by different companies, the 6600 series geforce is MUCH MUCH better than the older 6200. I have a Ledtek/WinFast 6600GT myself although only 128Mb. Legend cards dont deem to stack up in tests. Your best bet is to try the smaller PC shops, they tend to be cheaper than bigger shops like Dick Smith etc.

If you want top quality that will last for a while, support newer better games go for the 6600 altough there are newer better cards around they cost a lot more
