Hey Guys,

Anyone noticed issues with YouTube since IPv6 day? Specifically those of you with IPv6?

Although the AAAA records for youtube.com were removed after IPv6 day, the streaming still seems to come over V6. Which is fine, except that there's a painfully annoying delay when starting any video. I find myself having to refresh the page to kick-start the video into playing.

Destination IP for anyone interested is 2404:6800:4006:5::8. Source is my ICONZ ADSL connection.

I work for a global Data Protection Software company - But my opinions are my own.

Who's supplying your v6? I would talk to them as it could be a pmtu issue or traffic shaping problem

Most problems are the result of previous solutions...

No problems with it here, but i've got Native IPv6 through XNet.

See the same symptoms both native and tunneled IPv6 from ICONZ. Could still conceivably be an MTU issue as both are behind FortiGate firewalls.

This is on Windows and OSX in IE, Chrome and Firefox. Goes away as soon as I turn IPv6 off regardless of if I'm at home or in the office.

Cheers guys, now I know it isn't a general issue off the NZ region mirror I can chase suppliers.

Do your firewalls block ICMPv6? If they do, try deleting any rules that drop/etc ICMPv6.

(DON'T BLOCK ICMPv6!)
