There are No forums on Interest.co.nz

I have been posting on overseas sites about the situation in America and getting lots of replies in the threads.

By the way don't knock Bitcoin as I have already employed people to do programming with it..

The economy and what will happen on Aug 2 are big news. There is no where to talk about it as it relates to New Zealand..

freitasm its up to you. But an economics forum would be cool. Apart from that I will post some very interesting observation as I find them here..If thats OK

I would be interested in a similar forum, but like you haven't found anywhere to discuss this topic.

Most of the local information is published by stuff or nzherald and the likes of Rod Drury, Mary Holm, and some others regularly publish columns. There are other commentators like BERL and NZIER.

However there doesn't seem to be much discussion about how we fare in the macro situation, which it sounds like you are interested in.

There is little analysis done in the public domain because of the small size of our economy. I had a good friend before the Financial Crisis who did analysis for some of the bigger privates. I think they only put a couple of people on the job.

I know a little bit about macro, and suggest you should do some reading keynesian vs monetarist macro economic policy. Paul Krugman writes from a Keynesian perspective for the times. Reading a few posts from there will give you a good idea about what is happening in the US, he regularly posts links to contrary opinion so you will find out who the other players are pretty quickly.

If you have any specific questions I can try to help, granted most of my knowledge comes from health economics, and post-grad papers in general economics and finance, along with some reading.

jonherries you don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize the system has been totally ripped off and manipulated for political reason by the bankers and their government stooges.

I just want to know regarding our Oversea Dept

How it happened?

And why sound Economic principles that are known by the people and organization you mention were not applied.

I would also like to know what our dept is..

And learn some of the mathematics that would give me the approx day when this dept is paid off.
