As per the title, I am looking at implementing a text messaging solution to communicate with staff and also receive feedback from them.

Googling gives me at least a dozen NZ companies - if not more - that provide this kind of service.

Can anyone recommend a few?

Thanks, you are right, I should've known!:)

From my research so far, text messaging to the masses is an expensive exercise and definitely needs to be planned ahead.

We use mtxt from Vodafone. Navman can provide solutions if you need in car messaging. I am looking at how Twitter could work for some sort of solution in a business sense.

Without knowing how many staff and how many texts you need to send, would a mass text app not do the job for you esp with the 2500 texts per month packages available these days.

I know what you mean there and I thought of it. The only add-on we need is to be able to receive feedback and votes/answers.

Looking at around the 1000 registered members mark.

We use an australian based company, edgility, (www.edgility.com.au) for our bulk sms requirements, not sure on the volumes but have sent up to around 100,000 txts in a day through them, our web based interface has the ability to receive so guess this is possible.

Not the cheapest by any stretch, I think its around 13c/msg + gst.

Not sure if you could do a "vote" as such in any automated way, they are the experts so may be able to assist further.

I have bulk text msg solution. Initial set-up fees would be NZ$ 400 and monthly fees would be NZ$30. We have HTTP/API application in place to get connected with your webiste where you can send and receive messages. You can decide your short code either digits or character... per sms cost nz$ 0.06cent.. let me know if i can assist you on this.

Check that your txt solution can send a txt to ported numbers, since many 2 degrees users that have 021 numbers cant receive some international txts. Good idea to test that before you sign up.

Time to find a new industry!
